Just upgraded my Linux system and needed to type in the full address of Whats News from memory. Came up with a "Forum Suspended" notice. Short panic and then i noticed a missing "s" from "WhatSnews". All OK.

I'm impressed that you can even remember the What's News URL. In your position I have would have been desperately running to Beth on FB.
Sound like the upgrade is a success anyway. You seeing much improvement?

URLs and post codes I generally remember if I see them once. I have no idea why as I cannot remember names or telephone numbers no matter how often I use them.
I am seeing a lot of changes to Linux - not sure about improvements yet. "They" will keep trying to make the Linux front end like the latest Windows incarnation while being oblivious to the fact that there is a reason I do not use Windows! Actually, I am getting old enough now that I no longer like technology for its own sake. If it works well, why not leave it alone? I am even applying that to my photography - been using my 1937 Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex for the last month or so. Apart from the cost of film, it is brilliant.

Sound like the upgrade is a success anyway. You seeing much improvement? It takes about four times as long to load the operating system (still quicker than Windows, mind) and a long time to close down - closing down used to take nearly five seconds, now it is up to about thirty seconds. Also the panel at the top of the screen is not as useful although that might be because I now have the KDE desktop instead of Gnome. On the plus side, loading programs is very much quicker and I have infinitely variable sized icons on the desk top. And Digikam works properly now.
