Got to spend a couple of hours with a bunch of cars older than me before going across the street to watch the San Jose Giants. Way too many to shoot all of them, so here are my favorites. Absolutely gorgeous cars, most restored, but a few originals. Even a few cars I have read about and seen pictures of, but never seen in person before. Watch for the racecar that raced and finished 7th in the very first Indianapolis 500. My personal fave of the day? The bright yellow 1913 Pope Hartford 31. Stunning car. The owner asked if I wanted to hear it run. Duh. Way cool car. More seriously, great collection of photos Bob. The Pope is indeed a beautiful car. Is that the same Pope company that makes gardening equipment now?
We had a major Art Deco exhibition here a couple of years ago and they brought out some classic '30s cars, including a pristine blue Cole sedan that was indisputably just as much an objet d'art as all the works on the walls. I love the sweep and lines of the Art Deco cars; they make you long to go on a long drive with the windows open and the wind whipping your hair around.

Could be. A friend and I were discussing the cars of the art deco era at work a few days ago. They were the most beautiful. I would love to cruise across America on Highway 50 (The Lonesomest Highway) in a 1936 Auburn Boattail or a Cord or a Lincoln, or Buick, or Caddy. Or damn near any other car from that era.
