Had a root canal procedure done today. It was surprisingly painless - I even managed to go to a business meeting afterwards.
Only 1 more to do, plus the crown, and all of this will be done with.

Yay! I've not had a root canal procedure that was painful. Possibly I've been lucky. At any rate, glad yours was painless and you're off to the races again.

I don't really know why root canals have such a bad reputation. I've never known anyone who experienced any pain with them. It's all done with anesthesia, and when it's over, the whole point is to rid the tooth of the painful nerve. I think modern technology has also sped up the process a lot. The hassle of root canals used to be the amount of time it took for the dentist to drill it out and repair the tooth, but now they seem to have tools that get it done quite quickly.
Glad you're about done with all your painful tooth problems!

I don't really know why root canals have such a bad reputation. Have you read A Million Little Pieces?

A Million Little Pieces was fiction.
I do recall, though, way back when I was a teenager and people talking about the pain associated with having root canals done It seemed to me that the tooth was generally abscessed when the procedure took place.
And yes, the last one I had done was on a far back molar that had four or five canals to clear. The fellow did the procedure in far less time than less complicated root canals I've had done because he was watching the whole of what he was doing on a monitor screen. And maybe that's it too, they can be certain not to leave any bits of nerve tissue behind because they can watch what they're doing now.

A Million Little Pieces was fiction. I know, but that doesn't make the root canal any more appealing :-)

Psycho was fiction too, but I am a die-hard bath taker....you will never catch me on the tub side of a closed shower curtain.
Well, not entirely true. The movie did scare the stuffing out of me, but I really hate water splashing in my face and showers do that far too often for my taste.

Silly, no? I think that too every time I cringe when I stay somewhere that only has a shower. I use it.....but I hate it
