So that means it's a holiday long weekend in my province today. (Not all of Canada takes this holiday, only some of the provinces do.) The sun's shining, I have windows open, the fresh air is lovely, my home is already clean so, today, I'm working on taxes. The excitement never ends I tell you.
I'm helping out a friend who hasn't filed for a couple of years, so I'm downloading and printing the tax forms for back years off the Revenue Canada website. Which, that's all nifty that I can do that rather than having to go to their offices, and get forms during regular business hours, and pay a fortune in parking, and all of that other nonsense. But here's the thing. The Canadian government has their tax forms available in .pdf, e-text, and braille. Braille. On a website. Okay then.
Happy Family Day, everyone.

Goodness. I'm the only one who thinks that braille online is funny? ;D

I think it is brilliant, Georgina. Particcularly if the blind person has a frriend like you to down load files for them. Work even better if you can get Braille printers (can you? I can see no reason why not.)

You can get Braille printers! They are actually quite common - I just checked on Google.

Okay, yes, that is terrific. And I looked at the braille documents, and it's some sort of code that I'm assuming can be read by a braille printer. All of which is very neat when you stop and think it all the way through.
My initial reaction, though, was that it struck me as funny as ATMs at drive-throughs having braille on their buttons. Now, I know that they generically manufacture the machines all the same regardless of the location they're going to be set up at, and it's great that think to put braille on the buttons in the first place. But finding braille buttons at a drive-through is, at first glance, kind of funny.
