I have noticed two new additions at the bottom of each post - "Report to Mod - Link to Post - Back to Top IP: Logged" "Report to Mod" is fairly clear (although I wouldn't have thought necessary here) but what does "IP logged" mean?

From the Yuku Glossary:IP Address: This is a unique number that identifies you online. When you post your IP address is logged and can be used by admins to look up or ban you from their board. help.yuku.com/help20/index.php/Glossary

Well, they are wrong. I don't have an IP address. My ISP assigns me a different one each time I log on. Not that it is going to matter; I don't intend to upset Beth enough to get my self banned.

I didn't realise those were new, although come to think of it, I don't recall seeing "link to post" before which is handy-dandy.
But yes, IP logged means that the site's software logs your IP address when you post here. It was a feature that actually would have been really helpful on the old MSN boards when we had people who had nothing better to do with their time than cause trouble, and they'd keep returning under new names. If people wanted to return and had changed their minds about not wanting to be disruptive, we wouldn't have minded, it was just the infernal guessing game whether we were dealing with new entities or familiar folks.
Anyway, yes the site tracks your IP address. And, I guess, that's a word to the wise about virtually any message board you sign up on: your IP address is going to be visible to whoever the admins are of that site. Feeling relatively comfortable with who those people are is a good idea.
And, too, any website you visit, for that matter, keeps a log of all IP addresses that visit the site. I've had websites before and the site admin software/control panel for the site store all kinds of data, such as IP addresses, how many times a particular IP had visited the site, duration of visits. All kinds of nifty stuff. It also helps in case there's some sort of attack on a site you can find out vaguely what the source is.
This board doesn't keep all that fancy sort of information, but your IP is logged and only the admins -- meaning Beth and I -- have access to them.
