www.imdb.com/title/tt0803061/Just saw this today. It's a funny and tear-jerking movie about a dog that is adopted by an entire mining town in the remote NW, until such time as he attaches himself to a single master, whom he selects. Red shows extraordinary devotion to his master and to the rest of the community, and wizened old hardhats tear up at the bar as they regale a newcomer with tales of Red's courage, wisdom and steadfastness. And his rivalry with Red Cat. As an Aussie I cringed at the excessively blokey cliche dialogue; it was like Steve Irwin had been reincarnated a dozen times as a dog handler instead of a croc hunter. But I can't deny that it is funny and it does tug the heartstrings whenever it gets half a chance. And the dog is the best actor in the film. I think you'll love it.
