Hasn't 2011 just flown? Not to be a whinger, but I'm glad to put it behind me. I had a lot of frustrations at work, and there was some pretty bad news at times on the family front. I can chalk up one major satisfaction for the year - I lost 25kgs and, as a result, got my diabetes well under control. Next year I have to focus on my osteoporosis. Isn't ageing grand?

My Mother often said that getting old was not for sissies, and she was right.....but when you consider the alternative, it looks pretty darned good. Overall this was a pretty good year for us - family is all well, happy and little else really matters.
Happy New Year everyone !!!

Same to you and all other here Beth. We too have had a pretty decent year in our new home and are convinced that due to the age thing moving back into town was a good move.

Just this morning I was thinking how painful aging is at times. Thank goodness for ibuprofen! It made it possible for me to get to the store to buy the corned beef brisket and cabbage I'll fix tomorrow for New Year's luck. I'm going to give it my best shot at staying up to see the Waterford crystal ball drop in Time's Square. If all goes as usual I will be in bed before eleven. hee! Here's to the best of years to come for all of you and yours. Patch

WS. All the best mate, I see you have discovered the truth about ageing. I always think of the Rolling Stones song Mother's Little Helper: "What a drag it is getting old".
