Our landlord sold the house we live in, and we have to vacate by the end of the month. After much angst and fruitless searching (the rental market here is VERY tight) we've finally found a place. It's got some major positives - brand new place, 4BR, 2 bath, roomy living area, AC, heating, close to my mum's place and VERY close to public transport. Perhaps a little too close - if you look at the photo of the back yard, you can see a railway signal just over the back fence. It will be very noisy. It's also a half-house, which is less private then we'd like. Still, when you are in a raging hurry to find somewhere to live, you have to compromise somewhere. We move in on the 25th, so it is mad busy packing, cleaning and chucking old junk for the next 2 weeks. Here's some photos.

Beautiful place, WS! The kitchen is amazing between the sheer size of it and the sparkling floors. The front room floor is gorgeous and the backyard is lovely. It looks like someplace you and your family can be comfortable in. Noise, eventually, fades to the background.
Sorry you have to move again, though. I know how stressful that is. Good luck with it.

Not bad at all for such short notice. I particularly like the island prep/service area in the kitchen. That is the one thing that I would like in our kitchen that I can never have because it would mean giving up the woodburning stove....and that will never happen.
But I long for a prep island.

Liam also loved the kitchen island. His comment - "At last I can roll out some really thin pasta".
Teenagers sure have changed.

For the better, it appears....although Kate often cooled the teenage girl angst by baking the most heavenly cream puffs (could not pull off a mix angel cake to save her life, but baked layered patstry without a recipe
I have never figured it out

Islands in kitchens are the best workspace invention ever. I've owned two houses that had them and that was one of the major selling points for me with both of those kitchens. Clear space to work.

For short notice, it's amazingly lovely! Wow! And, yep, I'm eyeing up that kitchen for more ideas too.

Okay, I just noticed that bank of wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows at the end of the kitchen. The light in there will be amazing!

It would be no good for me. Shiny white floors? I would be banned to the garden shed!

Looks like a strippers' pole in the bathroom?

oskar, evidently your mind is entirely in the gutter when you can't distinguish between a shower door and stripper's pole. Is there something about your bathroom you'd care to share with us?

You mean other than the fact that his bathroom sounds much more interesting than mine?
