We are a family of animal lovers. Any kind of animals. Before retiring and moving to the farm we have always had a couple cats and a dog. Since our move back to Missouri we started out with 2 dogs and two cats... then we rescued another dog and yet another dog and two cats who have since had 5 kittens total and we have rescued a very mistreated donkey who is now as healthy as a horse. Just this month we have rescued two more.... an older absolutely beautiful female cat and just last night when I was coming out of the grocery store I heard a kitten just meowing so I tracked it down and found it shivering behind a halloween display the store has. She let me pick her up and I went inside the store and asked everyone I saw if this kitten was theirs and the managers also told me someone must have dropped it off as happens so very often. I brought her home with me, fed her and gave her her very own furry cat bed and she slept like a baby all night long. The other cats did not bother her at all and today she played with the other little cats and just ignored the older ones as they did her. I have yet to name her but will come up with a name soon. We have a total of 16 cats now, 3 dogs and a donkey and too many cows to mention. It's a good thing we have plenty of room and acres for all the animals and we're getting the cat house ready for the winter. Hubby has built a two story heated house for the outside cats. The dogs also have heated houses and hubby is in the process of making the donkey's house warmer too although last winter the donkey was out in the snow more than not even with his house had lots of staw in it.
