Conservative pundit and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan is hopeful that a woman will not become president of the United States for at least the next 30 years. During a panel discussion on PBS over the weekend, host John McLaughlin asked Buchanan when the U.S. would elect the first female president. “2040 or 2050,” Buchanan predicted. “That late?” McLaughlin wondered. “Let’s hope so,” Buchanan replied with a chuckle. “They’re not even considering any woman for vice president on the Republican ticket,” he later added. “I was joking about 2040!” Watch the video from The McLaughlin Group, broadcast July 7, 2012 at the link below www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/07/09/pat-buchanan-hopes-there-will-be-no-female-president-in-his-lifetime/

Seriously, if Australia's treatment of our first female PM is any guide, no woman could possibly want the job, until such time as the US electorate demonstrates that it is mature enough to accept the change. The treatment of Obama suggests that day is a long way off.

It has been shameful.....and I see that only getting worse. My only hope is that the upgraded vitriol is the last gasps of a dying, bigoted body of hate
