This is my latest musical fad. Tinariwen are a band of nomads from Mali who combine traditional Touareg singing with US-style blues guitar. Someone described them as John Lee Hooker playing around a campfire at night in the Sahara. Close enough.

Where do nomads plug in electric guitars? Nifty sound. Very interesting.

Where do nomads plug in electric guitars? They plug into a generator mounted on the back of the nearest camel, I guess.

Certainly a great start. I've got that, and I just bought their new one: "Companions".
They toured here a while ago, but didn't come to Melbourne, dammit.
